Thank you Admin!

Andy, thanks for reporting the MN family leave problem. It has been fixed.
Andy 2026-04-30 15:41:04
MN Family Leave amount is not showing up in PDF

Jenni, I don't have enough information to answer your question completely. The W4 about 5 years ago got much more complicated - it is more than filling out marital status and allowances. Your payroll company uses all the information on the new W4 to calculate your withholding. Or, if you haven't ever filled out the new W4, there are special rules they use to calculate withholding.
Jenni 2026-04-26 08:14:49
I used this calculator (which i trust) and my sure paychex company has a lesser amount of $19 and change for my fed tax for single O weekly pay hourly… 572 gross weekly no other deductions….I do want the most taxes taken out. Where are they getting this difference and giving me $19 more? Are they using the wrong 2026 fed table?
Admin 2026-02-10 19:30:50
3.8% is what we have for Iowa 2026. Make sure you put in the year correctly and remember there is a standard deduction and personal exemption subtraction.
Heidi 2026-02-10 17:37:27
Iowa State Withholding is 3.8%

Nick, thank you for pointing out or WA error. A file go left in the test folder and not copied over when testing completed. It should work for you now.
Nick 2026-01-24 19:01:33
T think the WA PML is off by a factor of ten.
Admin 2026-01-19 14:29:41
Anny, It's more complicated than that (use our W-4 Cheat sheet for help). Ultimately you must fill out the latest W-4. On that w-4 you will list non-taxable tips on line 4b. Line 4b is used by your paycheck provider(along with all other lines on the W-4) to calculate withholding
Anny 2026-01-19 12:50:39
Do I enter the amount for tips earned from restaurant in the supplemental income field? And then select add to income box? I want to know that the Federal withholding is not including tips. Please advise. thank you.
Admin 2026-01-12 14:13:09
Matt, Thank you very much for pointing out our error. It is now corrected.
Matt 2026-01-12 13:24:51
Calculation is off for MN PFML. Gross pay is $2288.00, MN PFML withholding rate is 0.44% which computes to $10.07 but this calculator shows $10.31. Where is the extra $0.24 coming from?
Randy Hall 2026-01-05 22:21:41
Your right, My mistake, I was entering data in a row I should not have. All is well. Thanks
2026-01-05 10:30:42
5.088 rounded is 5.09 which is what we calculate. I think this is correct.
Randy Hall 2026-01-05 10:07:25
My Kentucky 2026 calculations doesn't match yours on a weekly income of 210.00.
According to KY form 42A003 the calculation is 210x52=10,920-3360=7,560x3.5=264.60/52=5.088.
Dave 2025-12-02 19:33:31
This calculator was spot on for Nebraska. It showed my take home pay as $2343.32 and my normal take home pay is actually $2343.31 so it was off $0.01
Marie 2025-11-14 05:40:58
This calculator was spot on for Connecticut. I expected it to be close, but not exact - it correctly calculated the exact dollars and 4 cents in my bi-weekly paycheck. Nicely done to whoever did the programming for this calculator.

Heidi, use Send Us A Message link at bottom of page with complete info for one of the employees and I can check it for you.
heididudley@rocketma 2025-07-28 20:42:39
Why is this program not holding out Federal taxes, some employees it is, most it's not. Thank you for your time
Admin 2025-06-27 17:02:43
Tim, thank you for responding so quickly. The PA update we put in earlier this week had a formatting error which I have now fixed. It should be calculating correctly now. Thanks again.

Tim, We make frequent updates to PA withholding. Perhaps your school changed their EIT. Anyway if you let me know the school name I can look into it. It would be more private if you use the Send Us a Message link at the bottom of the page.
Tim 2025-06-27 12:50:24
Ive used this PA page since the beginning of the year. And my paycheck has always been 80 hrs regular 40 hrs overtime, 16.00 an hour, and 24.00 in overtime. For the last so many months its always been 1804.03. Deductions have always been the same exact, SCHOOL EIT AND MUNICIPAL EIT have both always been 11.20 every paycheck. Im wondering was that a mistake and was only supposed to be taken off either as MUNICIPAL OR SCHOOL EIT but not both. Cause when I run the same check now it shows the deduction for the MUNICIPAL EIT of 11.20 but no SCHOOL EIT deduction.

Back to the Medicare and SS question. Sorry, was speaking to section 125. Medicare and SS should be calculated after those deductions. Thanks!
JB 2025-03-11 16:39:45
Thank you for fixing it so quickly.
Admin 2025-03-11 15:51:16
JB, thanks for telling us about this error. It is now fixed. (my complements to the state of KS for an extremely confusing withholding instructions and state W4 form)
JB 2025-03-11 13:30:26
It doesn't look like Kansas Married with zero or one and Single with zero aren't calculating correctly.
Admin 2025-02-25 16:34:12
Medicare and Social Security are calculated on GROSS income. In other words BEFORE subtracting pretax retirement.
2025-02-25 16:15:47
MED/SS are not calculating correctly. Not factoring in pre-tax deductions prior.
Anin 2025-02-15 03:05:39
Do I even need to withhold ANY tax this year. Seems like a good year to bet the IRS collapses!
Charlie S. 2025-01-16 07:09:36
Love this calculator. Great job keeping it real. no "make an account so we can track your data" BS either. You rock.
Admin 2025-01-11 14:06:22
Nathan,
Maybe your employer uses our software?
Nathan 2025-01-10 20:54:03
Yours is the only payroll calc that actually hit all numbers with 100% accuracy compared to my pay stub! Just wondering how? if I do all the tax calculations by hand from W-4 to check(s)I get different results.
Admin 2025-01-09 15:34:25
Net 0 update. Yes, we found a problem which could result in $0 takehome pay being displayed. That is now fixed. Thanks to those who pointed out the problem to us.
Admin 2025-01-04 08:25:51
Tater,
I suppose it is possible that last week when we were uploading all the 2025 tables that we had a temporary issuee. Right now I ran all 50 states with 2025 info and always had a non-zero take home pay display. Try it again and if you still have a problem use the Send us a Message link at the bottom of the screen to tell me state you are having the issue with.
Tater 2025-01-04 06:56:01
I have used this calculator for years and love it! This week I have tried to run payroll 2x and it gives me the take home of $0 for all my employees. That is not correct. Has something changed in the calculations?
Admin 2024-12-29 11:31:54
SG, thank you for the comment. I will check with our commercial payroll customers and see what they prefer. So far they have been happy with us returning $0. You have an interesting situation if you have to pay to work!
SG 2024-12-29 10:52:55
I had more deductions than salary. Instead of showing a negative paycheck, it is showing $0.
I have had instances in the past where my paycheck was negative (small amount) and I had to write a check to the employer.
Admin 2024-11-14 15:17:32
Melissa,
Sorry you are having a problem. I need a little more information about what page you were on. Was this in payroll withholding? If so what state were you in?
Melissa Ross 2024-11-14 14:19:54
When trying to download or open the calculator totals on PDF, it is coming out with just zeros. I have tried refreshing the page and clearing out the inputs, and it is still doing that. Is there a way to fix this? It worked before today.
Admin 2024-11-04 10:39:09
I already changed pedaphile to sexual predator. Since the judge in the civil case against him ruled he was a sexual predator (and a rapist for that matter) I think I'll let it stand as is.
MB 2024-11-04 09:26:57
You need to remove the headliner asking if I am "really going to vote for a sexual predator?"
Admin 2024-08-19 10:00:31
Thanks for pointing out the problem. It is now fixed.
2024-08-19 07:27:17
Is there a way to fix the 2024 calculator to include both Federal and State. 2023 is the only option to calculate both.
Admin 2024-06-27 17:42:34
I just tried Family Leave Employer to 100% and got $0 withheld for employee amount -- which is correect. Please try again and verify you are really seeing something other than $0.
Massachusetts user 2024-06-27 17:19:20
Put the MA Family Leave employer percentages to 100% - worked fine earlier - now the calculator is showing a contribution for the employee. Please advise.

I found and fixed 4 states in which the pdf print version did not work. If you are still having a problem please leave another comment and specify which state.
Scott Rolfs 2024-04-20 22:48:54
Our PDF Version will not work.

What is the actual formula for OH state income tax withholding?
Candy 2024-01-23 12:04:35
Thank you Admin! Love using your system!!
Admin 2024-01-21 16:06:31
Thank you for pointing that out. It was scheduled to expire 1/1/2024 but we didn't catch that it had been extended. It should work now.
Candy 2024-01-21 11:51:34
For the Celina, Ohio local taxes, in previous years the school amount was deducted along with the city taxes. It appears that only the local tax of 1.5% is being deducted, and the school tax of 1% is not being figured in the total.
Admin 2024-01-18 11:16:49
Hmmm. It just told me that on a salary of $1000 (weekly) I should withhold $17.50 -- which is 1.75%. So it seems to be correct for Pandora Gilboa.
Beth 2024-01-18 10:55:55
It appears the Pandora Gilboa school district in Ohio is only being withheld at the 0.75% rate and the Ohio tax table says it should be 1.75%.
Paul M. 2023-07-15 16:41:56
Thanks so much for this. Thank you, Thank you.
Admin 2023-06-09 14:22:29
It was actually display MD taxes, but using CO label. Anyway it is now fixed and thanks for reporting.
Sheila 2023-06-09 13:25:44
I'm getting CO state when I choose MD and fill in all of the information.
Sharon 2023-05-14 07:19:06
Why does Colorado Withholdings show up when I have not selected it?
I have used this program for years and this is the first time this has happened!!
