This is a picture of the 1882 barn.  It was not build on the site where it currently stands.  It was move into town at some time.

Here is picture of the Bishop Hill Dairy Building.  The milk maids lived here.

The Hotel is a part of the state historic site and is open to the public.  In colony days it was the place in town to stay the night. It can be recognized by the white steeple on top.  (By the way, if you want to stay the night now contact the Hospital Bed and Breakfast at (309) 927-3506.)

Bishop Hill has two old school houses.  The one shown below is the original colony schoolhouse.  There are still people living in town who attended it.  Later a more modern schoolhouse was built.  The more modern one has now been converted into the really excellent Henry County Historic museum.

The old colony church was one of the first buildings constructed by the Swedes when they arrived in America.
